The Misericordia University baseball team suffered its first Freedom Conference loss, 13-4, Friday at FDU-Florham.
Andrew Tressa and
Kenny Durling both had two hits for the Cougars while
Nate Hamlin hit a two-run homer.
After FDU jumped to a quick lead with four runs in the bottom of the first, MU cut the deficit in half on Hamlin's two-run homer in the fourth.
The Cougars added a run in the seventh on
Jeff Slanovec's RBI-groundout and scored another on a two-out error in the eighth.
The Devils put the game out of reach with five runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Misericordia, 19-3 (6-1), will host FDU-Florham in a doubleheader, Saturday at noon at Roosevelt Park.
