Kristi Seiler hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead the Misericordia University softball team to a 5-4 win over Muhlenberg, Monday in Clermont, FL.
After dropping the opener to St. Vincent, 3-1, the Cougars rallied for three runs in their last at-bat for their first win of the season.
Jess Armillay picked up the win in relief of
Mindy LaBarre, who started and went seven innings.
Mallory Getts,
Caitlin Cromley and Seiler all had two hits.
Cromley led off the eighth with a single and came home on Seiler's game-tying homer.
Nikkie Boccia and
Shawnna Beil sandwiched walks around
Megan Hardy's single to load the bases before pinch-runner Jen Cory scored the game-winning run an infield error.
Sam Hare had two hits, including an RBI-triple against St. Vincent.
MU is 1-3 and will face Elizabethtown and Moravian, Tuesday.
