The Misericordia University baseball team beat Lebanon Valley, 9-1, Tuesday in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Ron Guido worked seven innings to earn the win with relief help from
Corey Lee and
Dave Smith, who both worked one shutout inning.
Guido limited the Dutchmen to three hits while allowing one unearned run.
Joe Tagliarini,
Mike Impellittiere and
Nate Hamlin led the attack with two hits each.
MU got on the board in the bottom of the second when
Bubba Jasinski singled and advanced to third on an error before coming home on
Jeff Slanovec's RBI-groundout.
The Cougars added four runs in the sixth with Tagliarini and Hamlin driving in runs.
Jasinski drove in
Bryce Frankenfield in the seventh and the Cougars plated three more in the eighth.
The Cougars won their fifth straight to improve to 7-1 and will face Susquehanna, Wednesday at noon.
