The Misericordia University baseball team earned their 20th win with a victory over FDU-Florham in a 4-0 game at Keystone College, Sunday.
Evan Robaczewski (7-0) pitched seven innings allowing four hits with seven strikeouts while
Ryan Cacchioli,
Andrew Tressa and
Kenny Durling all drove in runs for the Cougars (20-3, 7-1).
In the bottom of the first inning, Tressa walked and Durling hit a rocket that hit off the glove of the diving left fielder to score Tressa and make it a 1-0 game after one inning of play.
With Robaczewski holding the Devils scoreless,
Chris Tuttle singled to right field with one out in the bottom of the fifth.
Joe Tagliarini added a base hit and Cacchioli singled to drive in Tuttle, Tagliarini advanced to third and Cacchioli advanced to second on the throw home.
Mike Impellittiere reached on a fielder's choice and Cacchioli advanced to third to put runners on the corners with two outs. Cacchioli scored on a wild pitch and Tressa singled up the middle to drive in Impellittiere and give MU a 4-0 lead after five.
Game two of the double header was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up at a later date to be determined. The Cougars will continue regularly scheduled play when they host Wilkes on Wednesday.
