The Misericordia University softball dropped a doubleheader at Scranton, 8-7 in nine innings, and 5-1.
The Cougars broke up a no-hitter with two outs in the top of the seventh of the nightcap.
In the opener,
Caitlin Cromley had four hits, including a triple, and
Kristi Seiler had three hits and two RBI.
Megan Hardy added two hits and drove in two runs.
The Cougars took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, highlighted by RBI-doubles by Seiler and Hardy.
Scranton answered with three runs in the bottom of the first and took a 4-3 lead in the sixth.
Cromley led off the seventh with a triple and came home with the tying run on Seiler's single down the right field line.
MU took a 6-4 lead in the top of the eighth on
Amanda Polaha's two-run single to right center.
After Scranton tied it in their half of the eighth, Misericordia took a 7-6 lead in the ninth on Hardy's single to left center.
The Royals won it with two runs in the bottom of the ninth.
Scranton took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth in the nightcap and stretched the lead to 5-0 in the fifth.
Hardy drove in Seiler with MU's first hit of the game with two outs in the top of the seventh.
MU, 17-11, will host York, Thursday at 3:30.
