4/18/2012 8:48:00 PM

The 12th-ranked Misericordia University baseball team in a 16-1 loss to sixth-ranked Keystone, Wednesday at Roosevelt Field.

Andrew Tressa, Dylan Mazzo and Joe Tagliarini all had hits for MU.

After the Giants got on the board with four two-out runs in the bottom of the first, the Cougars threatened by putting the first two runners on base in their half.

Tressa battled back from an 0-2 count to draw a walk and Mazzo grounded a single through the right side but both runners were stranded.

Down 11-0, the Cougars finally got on the board in the fifth when Nate Hamlin reached second on an overthrow.  He moved to third on a groundout and came home on Chris Tuttle's RBI-grounder.

Mike Pena scattered six hits over five innings of relief and Brandon Barber closed out the game with 1.1 innings of shutout work.

Misericordia, 26-6, opens a three-game series at King's, Friday.
