Gabe Noyalis (2-1) and
Matt Karabin (4-1) both earned wins for the Misericordia University baseball team to complete the season sweep of King's, 8-3 and 6-2, Saturday at Roosevelt Field.
Noyalis and Karabin both pitched complete games and
Kenny Durling went 3-5 with three RBI and a homerun.
In game one, after King's walked the bases loaded,
Ryan Cacchioli singled to left to plate
Bubba Jasinski and
Jeff Slanovec to take a 3-1 lead after one inning of play.
Will Minderjahn opened the bottom of the third with a single to left and scored after a failed pickoff attempt and an error.
Nate Hamlin flied out to right field to plate
Jeff Slanovec and take a 5-0 lead after three innings of play.
The Monarchs answered with a run in both the top of the fourth and sixth, but
Andrew Tressa doubled to left field to score Cacchioli and cap off the scoring at 6-2.
In game two, MU scored in the first when Slanovec grounded into a fielder's choice to score Tressa and take an early 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Minderjahn had a lead-off homerun over the right field fence to go up 2-0. With two outs, Tressa doubled down the left field line to plate Tagliarini and
Mike Impellittiere singled to put runners at the corners. Durling ripped a homer down the left field line to extend the lead to six after five innings of play.
King's answered with a three run home run in the top of the sixth, but Tagliarini singled to left center to drive in Tuttle and Cacchioli and make the final score 8-3, in favor of MU.
The Cougars are now 29-6 (15-3) and will face Marywood on Wednesday.
