The Misericordia University softball team was eliminated from the NCAA tournament with a 11-2 loss to Moravian, Friday afternoon at the Union, NJ Regional.
Caitlin Cromley went 3-3 with an RBI single and
Kristi Seiler was 2-3.
MU jumped on top early when
Amanda Polaha tripled down the right field line and Cromley blooped a ball over the shortstop to drive in Polaha and take and early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
Seiler followed that with a single to put runners at the corners with one out.
Kat LaBrie reached on an error by the left fielder that plated Cromley and gave the Cougars a two-run lead after one inning of play.
Moravian responded with three runs on two homers in the top of the second and a three-run home run in the top of the fourth to take a 6-2 lead after four innings of play.
The Greyhounds added three more on an RBI double, an RBI single and an illegal pitch to go up 9-2 after five.
They added two more in the top of the fifth to go up by nine going into the bottom of the sixth.
Megan Hardy reached first with a two-out single but Seiler flied out to left field to end the inning and MU's season.
Misericordia ended the year at 28-17.
