Box Score The Misericordia University men's soccer team ran its record to 9-3 (2-0 Freedom) by defeating visiting Manhattanville College on Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars utilized two first half goals and a penalty shot goal in the 3-0 victory. The loss drops the Valiants to 3-8-1 overall and 0-2 in Freedom Conference play.

Misericordia got the scoring started in the 10
th minute when
Nick vonEgypt scored to raise his team-leading point total to 13. The goal was set up beautifully when, off a foul, the Cougars lined up from the 25-yard line.
Chris Panagacos lined up along the right side of the ball and faked the kick, with vonEgypt sneaking in behind and beating the Valiant keeper.

Eight minutes later,
Parker McArdle scored off a cross from
Rob Wiacek to end the scoring for the half.

The second half started with high energy from both teams. The Cougars generated multiple scoring chances early from vonEgypt and senior
Nick Ferguson. Just over five minutes in, the Cougars had another scoring chance deflected away but the Valiants were given a red card on a handball used to stop the shot.

T.J. Schaefer took the ensuing penalty kick, burying it to make the score 3-0.

Barry Fitzgerald recorded his eighth shutout in net, making five saves.
