Box Score The Misericordia University baseball team banged out 19 hits and used a nine-run seventh inning to beat Manhattanville, 18-4, Friday.
Andrew Tressa led the attack with four hits while
Steve Sulcoski and
Ryan Cacchioli both added three hits.
Kenny Durling had two hits, including a homer, and scored four runs.
Evan Robaczewski worked six innings to earn the win and
Brandon Barber,
Shane McGraw and
Max Weintraub combined for three shutout innings of relief.
Misericordia went ahead 1-0 in the second and took a 3-1 lead in the third.
Cacchioli led off the second with a single to center and eventually scored on
Chris Boroch's two-single.
After Manhattanville tied it in the bottom of the inning, the Cougars scored twice in their next at bat.
Tressa reached on an infield single and move to second when Durling was hit by a pitch. Cacchioli drove them home with a two-out double down the right field line.
MU scored four more in the fourth, highlighted by Durling's two-run homer.
Leading 7-4, the Cougars broke the game open with nine runs in the seventh.
Tressa had a two-run triple and
Joe Tagliarini had a bases-loaded double while
Mike Impellittiere and Boroch both had RBI-doubles.
Misericordia, 10-4, is scheduled to host Manhattanville for a doubleheader, including the first game ever at Tambur Field, Saturday at 1:00.
