The Misericordia University softball team dropped a pair of games at the National Training Center in Clermont, FL, Thursday.
The Cougars lost the opener to Lebanon Valley, 6-1, and dropped the nightcap to #14 Moravian, 9-5.
In the opener,
Kristi Seiler had an RBI-double and
Caitlin Cromley added a double.
MU scored its only run when Cromley and Seiler hit back-to-back doubles in the top of the first.
Against Moravian, Cromley had two doubles and
Kat LaBrie added two hits.
Mallory Getts also doubled and Jenn Cory scored two runs.
Down 2-0, the Cougars tied it with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Cory led off with a single to left and came around to score on Gett's double to left. Cromley doubled to left one out later to tie the score.
Moravian pulled ahead, 8-3, with three runs in the fourth and sixth innings, but the Cougars responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
LaBrie singled and pinch-runner
Katie Kelly moved up on a wild pitch before
Amanda Polaha's RBI-single through the middle.
Cory and Getts walked to load the bases and
Whitney Ellenberg was hit by a pitch to force in a run. Cory closed the scoring on a wild pitch.
Misericordia will play a doubleheader against Elizabethtown, Friday morning before returning home.
