Catilin Cromley's walk-off single helped the Misericordia University softball team complete a sweep over Eastern, Saturday at Anderson Field.
Cromley's hit gave the Cougars a 3-2 in the nightcap after she earned the win in a 6-5 victory in the opener.
Cromley,
Kristi Seiler and Jen Cory all homered for the Cougars in the opener and
Whitney Ellenberg and
Kat LaBrie both added two hits.
Ellenberg, Seiler and
Sam Hare all had two hits in the nightcap to make a winner of
Jess Armillay.
Misericordia took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game one.
Ellenberg led off with a double and eventually scored on Cromley's sacrifice fly and Seiler followed with a solo homer.
After Eastern took a 3-2 lead in the top of third, Ellenberg ignited another two-run rally in the bottom of the frame.
Ellenberg singled and moved to third when Cromley reached on an error. Cromley stole second and
Megan Hardy's two-run single to right center put MU ahead, 4-3.
The Cougars stretched the lead to 6-3 when Jenn Cory and Cromley both blasted solo homers in the bottom of the fourth.
Eastern made it 6-5 with two solo homers in the top of the sixth.
In the nightcap, the Cougars again opened the game with a pair of runs in their first at-bat.
Ellenberg beat out an infield single and came around to score on Seiler's single through the left side.
Following a wild pitch,
Megan Hardy ripped a two-out single down the left field line to make it 2-0.
Eastern battled back to tie it with two runs in the top of the fourth and the game remained tied until the bottom of the seventh.
Cory led off with a single and Ellenberg reached on a fielder's choice before
Mallory Getts doubled down the left field line to put runners at second and third.
Cromley singled through the right side to drive in the game-winning run.
Jess Armillay tossed a four-hitter and struck out six to earn the win.
Misericordia will host York, Sunday.
