A five-run third inning broke things open for the Cougars. Faria and Cacchioli hit consecutive one out singles to set up Tagliarini's two-run double down the left field line that pushed the lead to 6-0. After an Impellittiere groundout moved Tagliarini to third, Jasinski singled up the middle to send Tagliarini home. A Lindsay single gave Tressa a pair of baserunners, and he sent them both home with a triple down the right field line that made it a 9-0 game through three.
Durling led the bottom of the fourth with a single to keep the Cougar attack going and then scored on a Faria double to left center. A Cacchioli single and Tagliarini hit-by-pitch loaded the bases for Jasinski, who reached on a fielder's choice to score Faria and give MU an 11-0 lead.
