The Misericordia University softball team concluded the Freedom Conference season with a split at Wilkes.

After dropping the opener, 5-4 in 10 innings, the Cougars took the nightcap by the same 5-4 score.

Megan Hardy had four hits in the opener and Whitney Ellenberg and Kristi Seiler added two hits each.

Melissa Parker hit a pair of solo homers in the nightcap and Caitlin Cromley added three hits.  Ellenberg and Sam Hare both had two hits.

Jess Armillay scattered 10 hits to earn the win in the nightcap.

In the opener, the Cougars took a 3-0 lead in the fourth.

Seiler singled and moved to second on an error before Hardy singled to left to score pinch-runner Cailey Ware.

With two down, the Cougars took advantage of three Wilkes errors and Ellenberg added an RBI-single to make it 3-0.

Wilkes answered with a run in the bottom of the frame and tied it with a pair of runs in the sixth.

Seiler's RBI-double gave the Cougars a 4-3 lead in the top of the 10th, but the Colonels won it on a walk-off homer in the bottom of the inning.

Ellenberg led off the nightcap with a single and eventually came around to score on Seiler's single to center.

Parker ignited a three-run rally when she led off the second inning with a solo homer.  Hare singled down the left field line, moved to second on a sacrifice and scored on Ellenberg's double to right center.

Diana Kestenbaum made it 4-0 with a double to the same spot.

Parker made it 5-0 with another solo homer in the third.

Wilkes pulled within one run with four runs in the bottom of the third, but the game was scoreless the rest of the way.
