Durling's Extra-Inning Single Lifts MU in Regular Season Finale

Kenny Durling's RBI-single led the Misericordia University baseball team to a 12-11 win at Arcadia in their regular season finale, Tuesday.

Durling and Julian Faria both had two doubles among their three hits.

Andrew Tressa had two doubles and two RBI and Kyle Lindsay and Joe Tagliarini both added two hits.
Chris Boroch and Connor Moriarty drove in two runs each.

Max Weintraub got two outs in the ninth inning to earn the win and Cory Vogeli worked the 10th to earn his fourth save.

Misericordia took a 1-0 lead in the second when Durling led off with a walk and came around to score on Faria's double down the left field line.

After Arcadia scored twice in the bottom of the second, the Cougars tied it on Tressa's RBI-double in the top of the third.

MU went up 3-2 on doubles by Faria and Tagliarini in the fourth, but Arcadia went back in front with two runs in the bottom of the frame.

The Cougars scored five runs in the top of the fifth to take an 8-4 lead, thanks to Tressa's RBI-double and a two-run single by Moriarty.

The lead was short-lived as Arcadia responded with seven runs in their half of the fifth to go up, 11-8.

Boroch's bases-loaded single in the seventh drove in a pair of runs and the tying runs scored on an error to knot the score at 11.

Tressa led off the 10th with a walk and moved to second on Steve Sulcoski's sacrifice bunt before scoring the winning run on Durling's single up the middle.

Misericordia, 32-8, is the two-time defending Freedom Conference champions will open the 2013 Freedom Tournament against Manhattanville, Friday at 4:00 at Memorial Park in Quakertown.
