The Misericordia University softball team dropped a Freedom Conference doubleheader at DeSales, 1-0, 4-2, Sunday.
In the opener, DeSales scored the only run of the game in the fifth inning.
Jenn Cory and
Caitlin Cromley both had hits for the Cougars while Cromley scattered eight hits and struck out four while absorbing the loss.
In the nightcap,
Kristi Seiler drilled a solo homer and
Mallory Getts and
Whitney Ellenberg both doubled.
After DeSales took a 1-0 lead on a solo homer in the bottom of the first, Seiler responded with a solo shot to left center in the top of the second.
DeSales added a run in the bottom of the second and made it 4-1 in the fourth.
Getts doubled to left center in the sixth and came around to score on Ellenberg's two-out double down the right field line.
Misericordia will visit Albright, Monday.
