Box Score The Misericordia University men's soccer team improved to 5-2 after a 2-0 win against Elizabethtown on a cold day at Mangelsdorf FIeld.

The loss drops Elizabethtown to 1-4-2 in 2013.

Neither team had many chances to score in the early going but the Cougars broke through in the 15th minute when Rob Wiacek scored off a corner kick from Dennis Halpin.

Misericordia sealed the victory right after halftime as junior Nick vonEgypt capitalized on a pass from senior David Stoner to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead they would never relinquish.

Sophomore keeper Barry Fitzgerald earned the win in net, stopping all 13 shots he faced.

The Cougars are back in action on Sept. 25 against Lebanon Valley.
