Field Hockey Falls Late Against Haverford

Box Score The Misericordia University field hockey team took a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute but allowed three late goals in a 3-1 loss to visiting Haverford College.

The loss drops the Cougars to 1-8 while moving Haverford to 4-3.

Lindsay Hischak broke the scoreless tie and gave the Cougars the short-lived lead in the second half after backhanding a shot off a pass from Hannah Harvey.

However, just two minutes later, sophomore goalkeeper Angela Pasquini made a diving save off a shot from Jen DiMaria, but DiMaria was able to get the rebound back to tie the game.

Haverford took the lead for good in the 56th minute when Bryn Bissey scored, and she put the game away with her second goal in the 66th minute.

Pasquini made 18 saves in the cage.

The Cougars are back in action Oct. 3 at Marywood.
