Box Score Despite stellar goalkeeping and being able to keep the game close throughout, the Misericordia University field hockey team fell to 0-3 when they dropped a non-conference tilt to visiting Juniata, 3-1, Friday.

The Cougars rushed out to an early one goal advantage when Allie Elmes notched her first goal of the season just 1:16 into the game.

The lead remained in tact for just over nine minutes until Emma Dahmus scored her team leading fourth goal for Juniata to knot the game at one.

Juniata took the lead when Katie Landis put one past Angela Pasquini, who had a good day in the cage, saving seven balls.

Misericordia had a chance to tie the game midway through the second half when Andi Veneziale was awarded a penalty shot. Her shot was denied by Julianne Jones to keep the Eagles in front.

Depsite Misericordia putting on the pressure late, Juniata was able to seal the victory with its third goal-- scored by Sara Bilheimer.

The Cougars finished with 16 shots, eight of which were on goal. The Cougars also had six corners, compared to the Eagles seven.

Misericordia is back in action tomorrow against Keystone at 5 p.m.
