Eastern Edges MU Field Hockey

Box Score The Misericordia University field hockey suffered its first Freedom Conference loss of the season, 1-0, Saturday at Eastern.

The Eagles scored the lone goal of the contest midway through the first half.

Ang Pasquini made 14 saves in goal for MU, including a penalty stroke in the game's first 10 minutes.

Emily Hegner and Lindsay Hischak combined for three shots in a 10-second span with less than five minutes to play, but all three were saved, including back-to-back defensive saves on the last two shots.

The Cougars earned three consecutive corners in the final minute, but were unable to generate a shot.

Misericordia, 7-6 (2-1), will travel to Cedar Crest for a non-conference game, Thursday.
