MU Cruises to 6-0 Victory over Cedar Crest

Box Score The Misericordia University field hockey got goals from six different players to pick up a convincing 6-0 victory over Cedar Crest on Thursday afternoon at McGeehan Field.

Brianna Fischer, Hannah Harvey, Suzhaunna Lerch, Lindsay Hischak, Jennifer O'Neill and Melanie Fry had the goals for the Cougars while Elldridge and Fry added an assist in the victory.

Fischer got the Cougars on the board just 50 seconds into the game and Harvey took advantage of a penalty stroke to give MU a 2-0 lead just two minutes into the game.

Lerch and Hischak added two more goals to make it a 4-0 MU lead at the end of the first half.

O'Neill fired a shot from the top of the circle for the Cougars' fifth goal and Fry found the back of the cage midway through the second half to cap MU's relentless offensive attack in the 6-0 victory over the Falcons.

Jenn Gazdick was terrific in the cage, posting four saves en route to her first shutout victory of the season.

The Cougars dominated the Falcons from start to finish, holding a 29-5 advantage in shots and a 14-5 advantage in corners.

With the win, MU improved to 8-6 while Cedar Crest fell to 0-12.

The Cougars return to action Saturday afternoon at 1:00 against Freedom Conference foe, DeSales, at Mangelsdorf Field.
