Haley Coleman and Jenna Skrinak scored for the Colonels and Alexis Reed made 10 saves to earn the shutout.
The Cougars held a 19-15 advantage in shots, including 11-5 on goal, but couldn't find the back of the cage.
Misericordia, 11-7 (5-2), dropped into a second place tie with DeSales while Wilkes pulled within a half-game at 8-8 (4-2) with one conference game remaining.
The Cougars own the head-to-head tiebreaker over DeSales and would have the edge in a potential three-way tie with DeSales and Wilkes based on MU's win over top-seeded FDU-Florham.

Jennifer O'Neill combined to give the Cougars a good scoring chance with a two-on-none breakaway at 13:45, but Reed came off her line to make a sliding save on O'Neill and her rebound was wide right.
Lindsay Hischak fed
Hannah Harvey in front seven minutes later, but Reed stopped three consecutive shots.
Wilkes had three shots off three consecutive corners in the closing minutes of the first half, but
Angela Pasquini saved the first and the MU defense blocked the last two to keep the score tied heading to intermission.
Harvey ripped a shot off a corner that was deflected wide less than five minutes into the second half.
Coleman put the Colonels on the scoreboard just a minute later when she ripped a shot from the top left of the circle.
Skrinak entered the game at 46:13 and had her shot go wide at 48:01.
Skrinak's shot was blocked in front at 50:23, but teammate Marissa Surdy gathered the rebound and found Skrinak for an insurance goal inside the left post.
MU will wrap up the regular season with a non-conference game at Albright, Thursday.
