Box Score Lebanon Valley rallied for 73-63 win over Misericordia University in women's college basketball action, Wednesday night in Annville.
Shelby Brochetti led the Cougars with 18 points and
Justine Seely added 13 points and five rebounds.
Sam Baro had eight points and
Nikki Baro added seven points and a team-high six rebounds.
The Cougars shot 51.9% from the floor while racing out to a 36-31 halftime lead.
Tied at 10-10, MU went on an 8-1 run to take an 18-11 lead midway through the first half.
After
Lauren Smicherko's jumper in the lane gave the Cougars the lead,
Lena Williams hit a three-pointer to make it 15-11.
Williams found Seely for a layup and finished the spurt with a free throw with 12:40 to play in the half.
After Lebanon Valley pulled within 24-23, the Cougars responded with a 7-0 run.
Nikki Baro made a free throw and
Sam Baro added a jumper before Brochetti's layup made it 29-23.
Smicherko sank two free throws for a 31-23 lead with 3:57 left in the opening half.
Sam Baro nailed a three-pointer with 2:22 remaining and Brochetti closed out the scoring with a layup with 19 seconds left.
Lebanon Valley eventually pulled even, 43-43, before taking the lead in the six minutes into the second half.
After LVC built a double-digit lead, the Cougars cut the deficit to five points twice, but couldn't get any closer.
MU, 0-2, will face Babson, Friday evening in Williamstown, MA.
