MU Hosting DeSales in Freedom Field Hockey Semi

The Misericordia University field hockey team will make its second consecutive Freedom Conference championships appearance when the Cougars host DeSales in the semifinals, Wednesday at 4:30 at Mangelsdorf Field.

The second-seeded Cougars are 12-7 and finished 5-2 in the Freedom, including a 4-1 win over DeSales, during the regular season.
DeSales is 11-7 and was 5-2 in the Freedom.

Wednesday's winner will face the winner of top-seeded FDU-Florham and fourth-seeded Wilkes in Saturday's title game.

The Cougars utilize a balanced scoring attack that features five players with at least 10 points.

Colby Eldridge (17g, 10a) leads the team with 44 points while Lindsay Hischak (13g, 11a) adds 37 points and Jennifer O'Neill (15g, 4a) has 34 points.

Hannah Harvey (4g, 5a) and Emily Hegner (4g, 4a) add 13 and 12 points, respectively, and Hegner has a team-high nine defensive saves.

Hischak and Harvey combined for four goals in MU's 4-1 victory over DeSales two weeks ago.

Angela Pasquini is 10-7 with a 1.95 goals against average for the Cougars.

DeSales is making its second consecutive Freedom Conference championships appearance after losing to Wilkes in the semifinals a year ago.

Jesse Marshall (5g, 11a) leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 21 points while Alexa Beaumont has a team-high 10 goals and Alison Malatesta leads the team with 14 assists.

In goal, Becky Rasmuson has six shutouts with a 1.85 goals against average.
