Box Score The Misericordia University baseball team won its third straight game with a 14-6 victory over Arcadia, Wednesday afternoon at Tambur Field.

Mike Comerford continued to swing a hot bat for the Cougars, going 2-2 with a three-run blast, four RBI, two walks and scored three times while Nick Hare finished 2-5 and drove in two runs for MU.

Jeremy DeCotiis, Kyle Lindsay, Max German, Kyle Seawards and Brian Eshleman all had two hits for the Cougars while Chris Boroch, Al Reda and Steve Cuccio each drove in a run.

Mike Bernet earned the win on the bump for the Cougars. The freshman struck out three in 5.2 innings. Dillon DelRosso and Shane McGraw tossed scoreless innings in relief for MU.

Despite ultimately losing the game, Arcadia took an early 1-0 lead in the top half of the third. The lead didn't last long as the Cougars took a 2-1 lead after RBI singles by Boroch and Lindsay.

The Cougars added three more runs in the fourth on RBI singles from Seawards and Eshleman. Seawards later scored on a sacrifice grounder off the bat of DeCotiis to give MU a 5-1 lead.

Cuccio added an RBI double and Comerford followed with a sacrifice fly to extend the Cougars lead to 7-1 after five innings of play.

Arcadia clawed its way back into the game with a three-run sixth while cutting the MU lead to just 7-4. However, the Cougars put all hopes of a comeback to rest with a three-run home half of the seventh. Comerford roped a two-RBI double down the left field line and Reda sent an RBI single to center, giving MU a 10-4 lead.

The Knights picked up two more in the eighth, but it wouldn't be enough as the Cougars offense exploded for a four-run home half of the eighth on the heels of Comerford's three-run homer to left.

With the win, MU improves to 12-7 on the season, including a 7-2 mark in the Freedom. The Cougars travel to FDU-Florham, Friday afternoon and return to Tambur Field to hosts the Devils in a Freedom Conference doubleheader, Saturday afternoon 12:00 p.m.
