Box Score 2 Megan Hardy set a school home run record to lead the Misericordia University softball team to a sweep at Keystone, Monday.
After
Kristi Seiler's two-run homer keyed a 3-2 win in the opener, Hardy blasted her 12
th home run of the season to help the Cougars take the nightcap, 6-1.
Seiler was 3-3 with two RBI in the opener and
Mackenzie Yurko added an RBI.
Bailee Schies scattered six hits to earn the win.
In the opener, Seiler led off the second with a double and eventually scored on Yurko's two-out single to right center.
The Cougars made it 3-0 in the fourth when Hardy singled and Seiler drilled a two-run homer to left.
Keystone got on the board with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, but never got a runner past second base the rest of the way.
Same Hare was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning to tie the school record for her eighth HBP of the season.
In the nightcap, Hardy drove in three runs while Seiler and
Cailey Ware both had three hits and
Megan Gowe added a two-run double.
Melanie Quintanilla doubled to lead off the game and Gowe beat out a bunt single before Hardy's single to center drove in a run to give MU an early 1-0 lead.
Gowe reached on a one-out error in the third and moved to third on Seiler's single to center.
Sam Hare singled to left to make it 2-0.
Melissa Parker led off the fourth with a walk and
Cailey Ware followed with a single to center. Gowe's two-out double to center to make it 4-0 and Hardy became the school single-season home run leader with a two-run blast to right center.
She broke the 19-year-old record of MU Hall of Famer Jen Smith.
Jess Armillay tossed a three-hitter to claim the victory.
MU will wrap up the regular season at Scranton, Tuesday.
