Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Misericordia University softball team dropped a Freedom Conference doubleheader at FDU-Florham, 4-1, 11-2, Saturday afternoon.

Kristi Seiler and Melissa Parker both had two hits in the opener while Megan Hardy had an RBI-double in the nightcap.

FDU-Florham scored single runs in the bottom of the first and third innings to take a 2-0 lead.

The Cougars cut the deficit in half in the fourth when Hardy and Seiler singled with two outs.  Andi Veneziale walked to load the bases and Parker singled to left field.

The Devils added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth.

Bailee Schies allowed just two earned runs while absorbing the loss.

In the nightcap, FDU-Florham jumped in front with a three-run first inning and put the game away with three more in the sixth.

Whitney Ellenberg singled in the fifth for the Cougars and scored on Hardy's double down the left field line.

MU will host Manhattanville, Sunday at 12:00.
