The three-time defending Freedom Conference Champion Misericordia University baseball team enters the 2014 Freedom Conference Tournament as the second seed and will face FDU-Florham on Friday evening at 7:30 at Owls Field in West Lawn, PA.
Freedom Baseball Championship Central The Cougars finished the regular season 25-12-1, including a 17-4 record in the Freedom Conference while FDU-Florham concluded its regular season with an overall record of 21-12-1, including a 15-6 mark in the conference to earn the third seed.
DeSales comes into the tournament as the top-seed with an overall record of 25-13, including a 17-4 mark in the Freedom Conference while Manhattanville earned the fourth seed after finishing the regular season 22-13, including a 13-8 mark in the Freedom Conference.
The Cougars enter the tournament with a conference-best team ERA (3.92) and fielding percentage (.969).
MU also leads the conference in slugging percentage (.462), on-base percentage (.429), runs scored (272), RBI (237), doubles (73), hit by pitch (76) and sacrifice flies (19), opponent batting average (.263), batters struck out looking (75) and fewest runs allowed (145).
Ryan Dorosh has been magnificent on the mound for the Cougars this season, pitching to a conference-best 8-0 record, 1.71 ERA and 68 strikeouts in eight starts. The sophomore right-hander also tossed a conference-best five complete games.
Tim Burek finished the season second in the conference with a 2.39 ERA, including a 5-1 record in seven starts.
Corey Lee leads the Cougars with five saves, but was recently named Freedom Conference Pitcher of the Week after a solid start in a win at Wilkes on April 26.
Kyle Lindsay is third in the conference in batting average (.388) and leads the Cougars with 54 hits and 14 stolen bases while starting all 38 games during the regular season.
Mike Comerford has had a terrific sophomore season, hitting .364 while driving in a team-high 44 runs. He also leads the team with six home runs, 17 doubles and a .659 slugging percentage.

Miles Westrich also finished the season hitting over .300 while
Chris Boroch concluded the regular season hitting .299 with eight stolen bases.
The Devils come into Friday evening's game hitting .285 as a team. James Dertouzos leads FDU-Florham at the plate, hitting .376 while Frank laGuarina has a team-high 33 RBI. Frankie Tassielli leads the team with 11 doubles while Kevin Sinclair and Brendan Adams are also hitting over .300 for the Devils.
Andrew Hille leads FDU-Florham on the mound with a 4-1 record and a 2.08 ERA in six starts. Chris Roberts earned a 6-2 record in 10 starts while pitching to a 3.49 ERA in 59.1 innings. Bobby Bray has six saves and a team-high 16 relief appearances for the Devils.
The Cougars and Devils have met three times this season with MU taking two of three. MU outscored FDU-Florham 16-8 during the three game series.
The last time MU and FDU-Florham met in the Freedom Conference Championships was in 2012, with the Cougars beating the Devils 6-1.
The winners from Friday's game will meet Saturday at 3:00 p.m. while the losers will play at 11:00 a.m.
