Box Score The Misericordia University field hockey team played 14th ranked Catholic tough for the majority of the game, but the Cardinals rallied late to claim an 8-4 victory over the Cougars at McGeehan Field on Saturday afternoon.
Colby Eldridge led the Cougars on offense with two goals while
Hannah Harvey and
Lindsay Hischak added one goal each.
Danika Watto and Hischak each had an assist.
Emily Hegner had two defensive saves for the Cougars.
The Cougars were right in the game early in the second half when Hischak found Eldridge with a perfect cross field pass and Eldridge finished, making it a 3-3 game with just over 30 minutes left in the game.
However, the Cardinals answered with three straight goals to take a 6-3 lead with just over 15 minutes left in the game.
Hannah Harvey scored off of a corner to bring MU within 6-4 with just over 10 minutes left in the game, but the Cougars couldn't come all the way back as Catholic hung on for the 8-4 victory.
Maura Campbell led the Cardinals with two goals.
MU is back in action at Haverford on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00.
