Cougars Dominate in 8-1 Victory over Keystone

Box Score The Misericordia University field hockey team fell to a 1-0 early deficit, but exploded for eight unanswered goals to capture an 8-1 victory over Keystone College at McGeehan Field on Friday afternoon.

Colby Eldridge scored her first collegiate goal to lead a relentless MU offensive attack with three goals while Lindsay Hischak added two goals. Suzhaunna Lerch, Jennifer O'Neill and Emily Hegner also chipped in with one goal each for the Cougars.

Bianca Dolac had the lone goal for the Giants just 3:44 into the game.

Lerch put the Cougars on the board at the 10:24 mark hammering the ball into the cage off of a crisp pass from Eldridge. Hischak then gave the Cougars their first lead of the game at the 22:48 and Eldridge picked up her first goal of the game at the 22:48 mark with Suzhaunna Lerch being credited with the assist to make it a 3-1 MU advantage heading into halftime.

Eldridge, Hegner and Hischak all scored in the first four minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach. O'Neill picked up her first goal of the game at the 53:46 mark and Eldridge scored her third and final goal to make it an 8-1 Cougar advantage at the 67:41 mark.

Angela Pasquini had four saves for the Cougars, picking up her second victory of the season. Danika Watto and Samantha Partington picked up defensive saves for the Cougars.
