The Misericordia University women's basketball team fell to SUNY Geneseo, 66-27, Saturday evening in the Anderson Center.
Lauren Smicherko led the Cougars on offense with eight points while
Shelby Brochetti added seven points and five boards.
Amanda Greene finished with four rebounds and two blocks for the Cougars in the loss.
Geneseo got out to a hot start, opening the game with an 11-2 run. The Cougars came back to cut it to four at 13-9, following Brochetti's three from the right wing.
The Knights closed out the second half on a 15-8 run to take a 28-17 lead at the half.
Geneseo pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Cougars 38-10 to capture the 66-27 victory.
With the loss MU falls to 0-13 while Geneseo improves to 4-3.
The Cougars return to Freedom Conference action, as they host Wilkes University on Jan. 14 in the Anderson Center at 6:00 p.m.
