The Misericordia University men's soccer team fell 2-0 at 12th ranked Eastern, Saturday afternoon at Olson Field.
Three minutes into the game,
Niko Amity came down the right flank, beat a defender and found
Derek Antonini making a run to the near post, but Eastern keeper Jamie Stratton deflected the shot off the post and out.
In the 16
th minute Antonini found himself in front of goal and ripped a shot from point-blank range, but the keeper made another great save.
David Malaquias blasted a shot from inside the box but Stratton made another fine save.
The Cougars kept up the pressure in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net.
The Cougars took more shots, 16-15 and put more on goal, 10-8.
Misericordia is now 5-5-1 and 1-1 in the MAC Freedom.
MU will host Wilkes, Wednesday at 7:00.
