MU Field Hockey Drops Second Straight OT Decision

Box Score The Misericordia field hockey team dropped a heartbreaking 3-2 overtime decision to Albright on Senior Appreciation Day, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.
 
Colby Eldridge and Lindsay Hischak scored for Misericordia.
 
Eldridge gave the Cougars the lead in the 28th minute when she collected to a loose ball in the middle of the crease and ripped a shot into the cage.
 
Megan Meckling made a huge defensive save midway through the second half to preserve MU's 1-0 lead.
 
After Albright tied it, Hischak dribbled down the right side and fired a shot across the goal for a 2-1 lead in the 54th minute.
 
Samantha Partington made a great stop on a ball headed for the goal in the 65th minute which kept the score at 2-1.
 
Albright eventually tied it on a corner after time expired and won it just 1:01 into the extra session.
 
The Cougars out-shot the Lions, 13-9, and had an 18-8 advantage in corners.
 
MU will travel to Eastern for a MAC Freedom semifinal, Wednesday.
