The Misericordia University women's volleyball team suffered its first MAC Freedom loss of the season, 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-16), Tuesday night at FDU-Florham.
Meghan Stack led the Cougars with eight kills while
Michelle Sehested added six.
Nicole Tagerty had 13 assists and 14 digs and
Paige Shaughnessy had four kills and 11 digs.
FDU-Florham used an 11-1 run to break open a one-point game and take a 17-6 lead in the first set.
The teams played even throughout much of the second set and were tied 14-14 after
Coleby Charlier's kills.
After Stack's kill pulled MU within one at 17-16, the Devils scored six straight points to pull away.
The Cougars trailed throughout the third set, but battled to keep the score close. A kill by Sehested and an FDU error pulled MU within four points, 20-16, but the Devils scored five straight points to close out the match.
