Box Score The Misericordia University men's soccer team lost to Dickinson, 3-1, Wednesday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.
Devin Marriott scored late into the second half for the Cougars.
Marriott got the ball outside the box, got past a defender and curled the ball into the right-hand corner in the 64
th minute.
The Cougars were playing a man down for the last few minutes of the first half.
The best first-half opportunity for MU came in the 24
th minute when
Ethan Aigeldinger ripped a shot from 12 yards out, but it was deflected wide.
In the second half, even though they were short-handed the Cougars turned up the pressure and had several opportunities to get back into it before the Marriott goal.
In the 60
th minute,
Brandon Dean ripped a shot from 25 yards out, but the Dickinson keeper deflected it wide.
Two minutes, later
Derek Antonini blasted a shot from 20 yards out but it went wide.
Moments later
George Stock found himself alone atop the box, but his shot sailed high.
In addition to his goal, Marriot had a long-throw in the 85
th minute that was deflected in the boxe before the keeper corralled it.
The Cougars are now 5-4-1 and will play at Eastern, Saturday at 2:30.
