The Misericordia University women's basketball team evened its record with a 68-53 win over Penn State Lehigh Valley, Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Rose City Classic at Drew.

Justine Seely led the Cougars with 16 points, on 8-of-10 shooting, and seven rebounds and
Rachel Carmody added 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Liz Waleski had seven points and seven rebounds and
Nikki Baro had seven points.
Â
Carmody had four blocks and three steals while Seely had three blocks and four steals.

The Cougars led 30-25 at halftime and scored the first six points of the third period to break the game open. The Cougars shot 10-15 from the foul line in the third period to take a 53-36 lead after three stanzas.

Leading 46-35, the Cougars ended the third period with a 7-1 run over the final 90 seconds.Â
Japriya Carroll ignited the run on a fastbreak layup and Seely followed with a jumper to make it 48-35.

Leanne Forsyth added two free throws and Waleski closed the quarter with a three-pointer.

Penn State closed within 13 points early in the fourth quarter, but Jackie Hajec and
Ashley Johnson both sank jumpers as the Cougars went up 66-45.

Misericordia, 1-1, will host Alvernia, Wednesday at 7:00.
