MU Field Hockey Set for MAC Freedom Semi

The Misericordia University field hockey team will make its third consecutive post-season appearance when the Cougars visit Eastern for a MAC Freedom semifinal, Wednesday at 2:30.

Misericordia is seeded third after finishing 5-2 in the MAC Freedom while the Eagles were 6-1 to earn the second seed.

Eastern scored the only goal of the game with five minutes remaining to beat Misericordia, 1-0, during the regular season.

Wilkes visits top-seeded FDU-Florham in Wednesday's other semifinal at 7:00 p.m.  The winners will in Saturday's title game.

The Cougars won six of their next seven games before suffering a pair of overtime losses.

Lindsay Hischak (13g, 8a) leads MU in scoring with 34 points while Kailey Vogl (8g, 5a) and Jennifer O'Neill (8g, 3a) add 21 points and 19 points, respectively.

In goal, Angela Pasquini had 1.86 GAA with three shutouts.

Samantha Partington and Sarah Gamble have combined for seven defensive saves.

Eastern is led by Jessica Kinzler (9g, 5a) and Gina Miller (8g, 5a).

Nicole Berger is 10-4 with a 1.65 GAA and two shutouts in goal.
