The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team couldn't overcome a strong second half from Albright, falling 18-11 at Mangelsdorf Field on Thursday night.
Alexandra Elmes led the Cougars with three goals while
Brooke North,
Liz Mulvey,
Erin Baker and
Melina Juliano added two goals each in the loss.
The Lions got out to a quick start, scoring two quick goals to take a 2-0 lead just three minutes into the game.
Juliano answered with her first goal of the game at the 28:16 mark to tighten the lead to 2-1.
Albright responded with two of their own, making it a 4-1 game.
The Cougars offense scored four straight goals to take a 5-4 lead, following a
Brooke North goal with 13:47 left in the first half.
The Lions went on a 3-1 run to take a 7-6 lead after the first 30 minutes.
Albright's offense awoke in the second half, outscoring the Cougars 11-5 to capture the victory.
With the loss, MU falls to 0-4 while Albright improves to 4-1.
The Cougars return to action Saturday afternoon at Alvernia.
