MU Wins 8th Straight, Top Moravian 10-1

Box Score Ryan Dorosh was magnificent on the mound and the Cougars' offense provided him with plenty of run support en route to a 10-1 victory at Moravian College on Wednesday afternoon.

Dorosh tossed seven strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five and walking none to improve to 2-0 on the season. Kyle Rogalski and Nick Deno each tossed a perfect inning and struck out two out of the bullpen to secure the win.

D.J. Navoczynski and Nick Hair led the Cougars' offense with two hits and two RBI each while Kyle Lindsay, Mike Comerford, Steve Cuccio, Brian Eshleman and Jeremy DeCotiis drove in one run each in the victory.

Navoczynski gave MU the early lead with an RBI single through the left side, scoring Chris Boroch from second on the play.

DeCotiis drove in the Cougars' second run of the game with an RBI double to left-center in the top of the second.

Dorosh continued to dominate, preserving the 2-0 lead until the MU offense exploded for six runs in the fifth.

Hair, Lindsay and Comerford started the rally with RBI singles while Navoczynski added an RBI double and Cuccio capped the big inning with a sacrifice fly to centerfield, extending the Cougars' lead to 9-1 heading into the home half of the fifth.

Hair capped the Cougars' scoring with an RBI single to left-center, giving MU the 10-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth.

Neither team plated another run and the Cougars emerged with the 10-1 victory.

With the win, MU improves to 11-1, while Moravian falls to 8-7 on the season.

The Cougars return to Freedom Conference play Thursday afternoon with a doubleheader at King's College. First pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m.
