Brandon Winslow had a natural hat trick to lead the Misericordia University men's lacrosse team to a 9-4 win over King's, Tuesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
The Cougars improved to 8-6 overall and clinched a Freedom Conference playoff berth.
Lane Kocovsky,
Andrew Reynolds and
Chris Fleming had two goals each for the Cougars and Pat Kellish had three assists.
Pat Johnson made nine saves in goal for MU while William Pokorny had 12 stops for the Monarchs.
After King's scored twice in the first three minutes to give King's a 2-0 lead, Winslow answered with three straight goals for MU.
Winslow got the Cougars on the board when took a pass from
Lane Kocovsky from behind the net and a fired a shot from the top of the circle with just under 10 minutes to play in the first quarter.
Winslow tied it five minutes later with a man-up goal from the same spot.
Winslow gave the Cougars the lead a minute later when he scooped a ground ball and bounced a shot in.
Fleming made it 4-2 when he dodged two defenders along the baseline and stuffed a shot inside the left post less than a minute into the second period.
After pulled King's within 4-3 at 8:52, Reynolds scored off the ensuing face-off just six seconds later.
Kellish found Kellish in front of the cage with 3:34 left in the half and the Cougars took a 6-3 halftime lead.
Reynolds whipped in a shot from well behind the circle on the left wing for the only goal of the third quarter.
Fleming scored again from the left baseline with 9:14 to play and Kocovsky added a goal in the final minute.
Misericordia will travel to FDU-Florham for the regular season finale, Saturday.
