The Misericordia University baseball team dropped a tough, 7-6 decision at Manhattanville on Friday afternoon.

Kyle Lindsay led the Cougars' offense with two RBI while
Mike Comerford,
Steve Cuccio and
Chris Boroch drove in one run each.
Nick Hair added two hits in the loss.

Ryan Dorosh was credited with a no decision after allowing three earned runs while striking out four over 6.1 innings on the mound.
Elliot Forde tossed a scoreless bottom of the eighth with one strikeout for the Cougars.

Despite ultimately dropping the game, MU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a Comerford RBI single to center.

Manhatanville quickly struck back, taking a 2-1 lead on an RBI single and a Cougar fielding blunder in the second.

Cuccio then tied the game with an RBI single to right-center in the top of the third.

Boroch then gave the Cougars a 3-2 lead with an RBI single to left-center. DeCotiis then grounded out to first, but
Al Reda scored on a muffed throw to extend MU's lead to 4-2 in the fourth.

The Valiants added one run in the bottom of the fourth and then a solo home run in the fifth to tie the game 4-4.

Lindsay continued the back and forth with a two-run single in the top of the sixth, giving the Cougars a 6-4 lead.

However, Manhattanville scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 7-6 lead and never gave it back.

With the loss, MU falls to 23-7 overall and 12-4 in the conference. Manhattanville improves to 19-14 and 12-6 in the conference.

The two teams conclude their three game series with a doubleheader Saturday afternoon, beginning at 1:00 at Tambur Field.
