The Misericordia University baseball team dropped a 15-6 decision in a non-conference game at Keystone College on Monday afternoon.

Steve Cuccio drove in two runs to lead the Cougars offense while
D.J. Navoczynski had three hits and one RBI.
Nick Hair and
Al Reda drove in one run each in the loss.

Anthony LoBello tossed 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out one.
Mike Bernet pitched a scoreless ninth.

Keystone took an early 3-0 lead, following two runs in the second and one more in the bottom of the third.

MU responded with a four-run top of the fourth, taking a 4-3 lead. Cuccio was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, to start the rally and Hair roped a sacrifice fly to right field. Reda then followed with an RBI single right back up the middle and Cuccio scored on a failed pickoff attempt to cap the Cougars' scoring in the fourth.

The Giants answered with four of their own, taking a 7-4 lead after four.

Navoczynski made it a two-run game when his solo home run to left field, tightened the Keystone lead to 7-5 in the top of the fifth.

The Giants scored four more runs in the fifth and then four more in the sixth, extending their lead to 15-5 heading into the seventh.

Cuccio drove home MU's final run with an RBI double to right-center, making it a 16-5 ball game in favor of the Giants.

Neither team plated another run and Keystone emerged with the 15-6 victory.

With the loss, MU falls to 24-9, while Keystone improves to 26-11.

The Cougars return to action Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at DeSales.
