The Misericordia men's soccer team lost to Arcadia, 3-1, on a chilly evening at Mangelsdorf Field, Sunday.
Matt Norcini scored the lone goal for MU.
The Cougars got off to a quick start when Norcini sent a ball in from the right wing that was misjudged by the Arcadia keeper, giving Misericordia a 1-0 lead just seven minutes into the game.
Nick Rogers made a fantastic defensive play midway through the first half when he cleared an Arcadia shot off his own line.
Arcadia managed to equalize just 10 minutes before halftime.
The second half increased in physicality and the Knights took a 2-1 lead off a loose ball in the box in the 63
rd minute.
The Cougars had several opportunities to get an equalizer, the best a rocket of a shot by
Niko Amity that hit the left post in the 77
th minute.
Arcadia added an insurance goal six minutes later.
Misericordia outshot Arcadia 12-9 and took 10 corners to the Knights' three.
The Cougars return to action Wednesday when they host Scranton at Mangelsdorf Field at 7:00.
