FDU scored the game's first five points, but the Cougars rallied with 12 straight to take a 12-5 lead.

Kerns sank a turnaround jumper for a 14-6 edge before FDU made a pair of three-pointers.

Kerns answered with a soft left-handed jumper and Sponaugle drained a three-pointer for a 19-12 lead midway through the first period.

Rodway forced a turnover and went the length of the floor for a layup and Sponaugle hit a deep three-pointer to stretch the lead to 27-16.

Darren Davy made a short jumper and Kerns added a putback to give the Cougars a 32-19 lead.

Sponaugle hit a three from the right corner and John Murphy followed with a baby hook shot to put MU up, 35-19.

Murphy's two-handed dunk made it 39-29 with 2:36 left in the half.

Kenny and Sponaugle hit back-to-back three-pointers as the Cougars took a 47-27 lead early in the second half.

FDU-Florham cut the margin to 52-41 with 11:46 remaining, but Kenny scored four straight points to cap a 9-0 run and put the Cougars ahead, 68-44, with 6:24 to play.
