Tristan Wright scored less than two minutes into overtime as the Misericordia University men's soccer team pulled out a 1-0 win over Wilkes, Saturday evening.
Wright headed home a throw from
Devin Marriott at 91:06 as the Cougars improved to 8-5-1 overall and 3-1 in the MAC Freedom.
Matt Smith made three saves in goal to earn the shutout.
The Cougars controlled much of the play throughout regulation and held an 18-4 edge in shots. MU allowed just one shot after halftime. Misericordia also had a 12-1 advantage in corners.
Anthony Ippolito led the Cougars with four shots, including two on goal, and
Niko Amity had two shots from the right flank.
MU will visit DeSales Wednesday afternoon.
