Six different players scored goals as the Misericordia University men's soccer team beat Delaware Valley, 6-0, to clinch the top seed in the MAC Freedom championships.
Anthony Ippolito had a goal and an assist and
Niko Amity,
David Malaquias,
Russell Hines,
Nick Szczerba and
Mac Livermore all added goals.
Misericordia extended its unbeaten streak to five straight games to improve to 11-5-2 overall and 6-1 in the MAC Freedom.
Anthony Ippolito gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead midway through the first half on a long throw from
Dante Ippolito that was flicked on by Christopher Edkins.
Niko Amity made it 2-0 early in the second half when
Levi Roberts played a ball into the box and
Anthony Ippolito headed it to Amity.
Devin Crevani slotted a pass across the box where Malaquias finished it to make it 3-0 at 65:19.
Russell Hines scored on a rebound 10 minutes later and
Nick Szczerba headed a home a ball from
Tristan Snyder at 84:49. Â
Mac Livermore closed out the scoring from 25 yards out with less than three minutes remaining.
The Cougars will host a MAC Freedom semifinal, Tuesday.
