The Misericordia University men's soccer team beat Manhattanville, 2-0, in the pouring rain Saturday evening.

Devin Marriott and Tristan Wright scored one goal each while Trey Ziegler and Dante Ippolito had one assist apiece.

The teams were tied 0-0 at the half, with MU holding a 2-1 edge in shots.

MU controlled the run of play to open the second half, getting off eight shots to Manhattanville's one in the first 20 minutes. 

In the 74^th minute the Cougars broke through.

D. Ippolito beat a defender and crossed the ball to the middle and Marriott placed it in the bottom left corner to make it 1-0.

Six minutes later, Ziegler sent a ball from near the end line towards the back post and Wright slid in and put it in the net to make it 2-0.

The Cougars outshot the Valiants 14-5 and held an 11-2 edge in corners.

The win puts MU at 7-4-1 on the year and 2-0 in the MAC Freedom.

Misericordia will play Eastern, Tuesday at 7:00
