D.J. Navoczynski's grand slam in the top of the 12
th inning lifted the Misericordia University baseball team to a 5-1 win at Moravian, Wednesday.

Zach Mason threw seven shutout innings in relief to earn the win on the mound.Â
Tim Burek started and allowed just one run on three hits over five innings.

Kenny Jarema had a game-high three hits while Navoczynski had two hits and drove in all five of MU's runs.Â
Mike Comerford and
Parker Abate both had two hits.

Moravian took a 1-0 lead in the fifth and the Cougars pulled even in the eighth.Â
Kyle Lindsay reached on an error and moved to second on a single by
Alec Iurato. Navoczynski singled through the right side to drive in the tying run.

After stranding a runner in scoring position in the 10
th and 11
th innings, the Cougars broke through in the 12
th.

Chris Boroch and Jarema reached on an error and both runners moved up on a sacrifice bunt. Iurato was intentionally walked to load the bases and the strategy backfired when Navoczynski blasted a grand slam.

Misericordia extended its win streak to six games while improving to 14-5.
