The Misericordia baseball team fell to Manhattanville, 12-5, Friday afternoon at Tambur Field.
Chris Boroch went 2-3 with two walks and three runs while
Kenny Jarema was 2-4 with two walks and a run scored.
Kyle Lindsay was 2-5 with a double and a RBI while
Parker Abate was 1-3 with triple and a run scored.
It was 0-0 through two innings, but the Valiants put up five runs in the third. Misericordia would get one back in the bottom of the third.
Boroch led off with a single to left center, Jarema singled up the middle and Lindsay reached on a fielder's choice which left Boroch on third. Lindsay moved to second on a wild pitch and Iurato grounded out to the shortstop to score Boroch.
Manhattanville put up two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the six to go up 11-1.
The Cougars scored one run in the sixth and the seventh to make it 11-3.
Misericordia score two more in the eighth and threatened for more.
After the first two batters were retired, Boroch singled up the middle. Jarema walked, Lindsay singled Boroch home and Iurato singled to send Jarema home to make it 11-5.
D.J. Navoczynski drew a walk to load the bases, but MU wouldn't score again.
The loss drops Misericordia to 14-6 (5-2).
The Cougars travel to Manhattanville for a doubleheader, Saturday at 1:00.Â
