Box Score 2 The Misericordia University baseball team opened the Clemente Cup with a pair of wins over Kean and Messiah, Sunday afternoon in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

Misericordia defeated Kean, 3-0, in the opener and beat Messiah, 9-6, in the second game.

Against Kean,
Ryan Dorosh scattered five hits over seven innings to earn the win and
Elliot Forde worked two shutout innings to pick up the save.

D.J. Navoczynski had three hits and two RBI and
Alec Iurato added an RBI double as the Cougars improved to 2-1.

The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.Â
Chris Boroch and
Jeremy DeCotiis opened the game with back-to-back singles with Boroch advancing to third base.

After DeCotiis stole second, Boroch was erased as
Mike Comerford reached on a fielder's choice.
Â
Navoczynski followed with a two-out RBI single to score DeCotiis.
Â
The Cougars manufactured an insurance run in the third without the ball leaving the infield.Â
Kyle Lindsay drew a one-out walk and stole second. Comerford drew a walk and both runners moved up on a double-steal.

Lindsay came home on Navoczynski's infield single to make it 2-0. After
Steve Cuccio was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Kean escaped further damage when Iurato popped out to second and Comerford was out at the plate.

Navoczynski singled up the middle to lead off the sixth and came around to score on Iurato's double down the left field line to make it 3-0.

In the nightcap, DeCotiis drove in seven runs on four hits, including a bases-loaded triple.

Cory Vogeli picked up with the win, allowing just two earned runs over 6.1 innings.

MU, 3-1, will face Arcadia, Monday at 7:00 p.m.
